Technician (Window Sample Driller) – Geotech

As part of continued growth and specifically within our Geotech Division, we now have a new opportunity for Window Sample Drillers based from our Normanton office to become a vital member of our team.
As a driller you will be responsible for providing quality site information to facilitate designs. You will be proficient in the safe operation for window sampling rigs and be willing to be trained for coring, rotary and site testing competencies. Reporting to the Drilling Manager Technicians are the backbone of the department and provide support to the Site Team Leaders and guidance to the Trainee Technicians Story Geotech strive hard to exceed clients expectations and follow the Story mantra of ‘Right First Time’
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Production of site records including, but not limited to; daily drilling logs, pre-start drilling rig checks, risk assessments, vehicle and tachograph records.
- Undertake ground investigation utilising ground penetrating plant in accordance with the appropriate specification.
- Completing in-situ testing and sampling
- Carrying out routine and preventative maintenance, including regular cleaning of rig and vehicle, as and when required. Ensuring the maintenance and appearance of the drill rig and vehicle is kept to a high standard.
- Conduct coring operations and break outs to structures
- Undertake other general labouring duties e.g. erecting fences, general reinstatement, light instrument monitoring, delivery of consumables, hand dug inspection pits and collection of samples
As the right candidate for this role you will have:
- Full UK Driving License
- NVQ L2 Land Dilling Operations
- General fitness for physical activities
- PASMA Certified (training can be given)
- CAT & Genny certified (training can be given)
- PTS (training can be given)
- CSCS certified
- NRSWA Operative level (training can be given)
