We have an exciting opportunity in the Eastern region for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in one of our northern offices. 

 

Location

To be based out of one of our northern offices at Normanton (Leeds) or York, with travel to projects to provide support and guidance to your delivery teams.

 

The Role

As a Senior Project Manager for Story, you will be responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of projects from inception to completion, within the Rail, Water and Energy sectors. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors and agencies, to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead with Safety: Drive Projects to Success with a Commitment to Excellence, Well-being, and Risk Management. Ensure every milestone is achieved with the highest standards of safety and quality
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and achievements.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the rail or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools. Eg Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Coins, EcoOnline, Project etc
  • A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant professional qualification is desirable, eg CEng, ChPP, APM PMQ
  • CRE-C and TWC experience.
  • Skilled at developing close relationships, especially with key project influencers.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Extensive experience in commercial management of projects and reporting to Senior Management and Clients.
