We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor at Story Contracting, to join our Story Scotland division based from our Blantyre office - and there has never been a better time to join!

We are award winning and have built a strong reputation for delivering a range of projects within the railway and civil engineering sector.
The Role
As part of a team of Quantity Surveyors and reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor you will manage project costs from concept to completion. You will oversee contractual commitments and challenge and support to identify best value solutions. With excellent communication skills, you will be customer focused with the ability to build and manage effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, internal colleagues and supply chain partners.
You ideally will have
- A commercial qualification, have contract knowledge and be enthusiastic to continuously develop and learn.
- The ability to demonstrate previous experience of working within the construction, rail, infrastructure and civil engineering sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Ability to develop close relationships, particularly with the key influencers for the Project
- A well organised and disciplined approach, demonstrating the ability to accurately analyse and report on information gained
- Confidence to work on own initiative with good planning and preparation skills
