We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team based from our Blantyre office - and there has never been a better time to join!

The Role

As a Project Manager at Story Contracting you will be given the responsibility of managing your own team in the delivery of rail and civils schemes, of values from £50k up to £5m. Works would be delivered throughout Scotland, with autonomy to deliver your own schemes. With Story being a growing business and a employee focused organisation the room for growth and progression is vast. You would be expected to be involved in the following:

  • Lead teams through design, development and delivery with effective project management.
  • Delivery of a portfolio of schemes.
  • Managing of a team of people.
  • Commercially engage with Quantity Surveyors and Clients.
  • Plan and programme works.
  • Ensure engineering compliance and strive for engineering excellence.
  • Tender input.
  • Contribute to growth and engaging new Clients.
  • Lead by example to embed high HSQE standards in project teams.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in Civil Engineering
  • 7yrs+ experience in civils works and preferably in the rail environment.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of workload effectively 
  • Experience in managing and administering NEC3 or NEC4 contract types
  • Programming experience
  • Experience in undertaking Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • PTS certified
  • Driving licence.
  • Client relationship management experience
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
