HSQE Advisor
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Construction team, based in Carlisle as an HSQE Advisor. There has never been a better time to join!
The Role
As a HSQE Advisor you will provide assurance, guidance and support ensuring the safe operation of projects, to comply with all Health, Safety & Environment regulatory and legislative requirements.
You will be expected to:
• Support the Operations Manager to create a culture in Construction that promotes Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) Safety in the workplace
• Monitor and accurately report on HSQE compliance
• Conduct event investigations ensuring problems are appropriately addressed and rectified
• Work with the Group HSQE Director on the implementation of the Story HSQE Strategy within Construction
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our Site Managers, Construction Managers, wider site teams, the Story Contracting Ltd business and external stakeholders
• Provide proactive and ‘hands on’ support and guidance to site teams to achieve sustainable HSQE practices that exceed expectations

The Ideal Candidate:
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma
• Auditing certificate to ISO, 45001, 9001, 14001 is desirable
• Environmental qualification is desired
• 3-5 years experience and expertise gained in working in a similar role
• Member of IOSH/IIRSM or equivalent professional body
• Experience in event investigation and root cause analysis
• Ability to engage with Site Managers, Colleagues and Subcontractors
• Good IT and reporting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience of working with Subcontractors
• Ability to work on your own initiative
• Identify risk to the business and opportunities for improvement
• High degree of attention to detail
• Be confident to deliver educational tools / training and development initiatives.
